Visa Causing US Online Casino Players To Adjust

Visa
Visa has become the latest credit card company to force online casino players in the US to adjust their deposit methods at the casinos they play at. Visa followed in the footsteps of MasterCard by announcing they will no longer process online gambling transactions.

The credit card companies may be having a dry run at how things will change after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act goes into effect in June. The preparation may end up being a waste of time if Representative Barney Frank has his way.

Frank has been spearheading a movement to have the UIGEA overturned. Whether or not he is successful could ride on how much fellow Democrats are willing to risk. In an election year, politicians do not usually like to take on major issues and risk losing votes.

One representative that will be in Frank’s corner will be Ron Paul. The conservative representative from Texas is for online gambling regulations, and he is currently one of the most popular Republican lawmakers.

Paul won a straw poll over the weekend of Conservatives. The poll asked who would be the the top candidate for President, and Paul won with thirty-one percent of the votes. Rep. Paul is already a co-sponsor on Frank’s online gambling legislation that has been proposed.

A couple of weeks ago, MasterCard made the decision to stop processing online gambling transactions and now Visa has made the same decision. Online casino players are still left with a variety of options for deposits. Most casinos allow players to receive checks to cash out their winnings.
