Cake Poker Break: Phil Ivey Has 8th WSOP Bracelet

One of poker’s biggest superstars continues to make headway, winning his eighth career World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet.  Ivey accomplished this feat in the $3,000 HORSE event, beating out Bill Chen.

From Cake Poker:  “With this win, Phil Ivey’s eight career WSOP bracelets ties him with Erik Seidel for fifth all-time. The $329,840 first prize won’t mean a lot, since it almost surely pales in comparison to the money he’s won in prop bets from Tom Dwan and other poker pros. Chen, meanwhile, settles for second place and $203,802.”

It is that other “Phil” that has more WSOP bracelets than any other poker player, Phil Hellmuth.  He has a record 11 World Series of Poker bracelets.
