Antigua’s Internet Gambling Sites Given Right To Advertise In UK
The UK allows Internet gambling ads, but they are strictly monitored to make sure that they are within the legal limits that have been set by the British government. Sites that make their home in Antigua and Barbuda will now be among those that are allowed to advertise in the UK.
Antigua and Barbuda has been working hard to ensure that their regulations of the online gambling industry have been complied with. They have now won over the respect of the British government for bringing their regulations up to standard.
“We look forward to the expansion opportunities that this provides for our current licensees and to welcoming other…remote gambling brands to (our) jurisdiction,” said Antiguan Minister of Finance and the Economy L. Errol Cort.
Some of the companies that will take advantage of the benefits of being able to advertise in the UK are EHG and Helix Gaming International. Both companies have licenses in Antigua and Barbuda and will benefit greatly from the additional advertising.
“For these companies that have met regulation requirements in Antigua and Barbuda, it will be a big advantage to be allowed to advertise in the UK. With this ruling, Antigua and Barbuda could become a destination for many other online gambling operators,” said Francis Fletcher, an online gaming analyst.
Although many will want to move their operations to the country, stiff regulations will be awaiting them when they make the move. Part of the reason the British government made this ruling was because of the tightening of regulations for the Internet gambling industry in Antigua and Barbuda.
The companies will be able to begin their advertising in the UK anytime after November 20th, according to the government.
